Expert Review and Site Log Analysis
UnitedHealthcare's Golden Rule has been providing health insurance products for more than 60 years. Under the UnitedHealthOne brand, Golden Rule and its affiliated companies offer health plans to individuals and families in 40 states and the District of Columbia.
We evaluated Golden Rule's online health insurance quoting and application system. Our extensive report compared the system to usability best practices, detailed opportunities for improvement, and described results of a web log analysis performed to support the findings.

Usability Testing & Design Recommendations
Fifth Third Bank is a Fortune 500 powerhouse with over $110 billion in assets. It operates 16 affiliates with over 1,300 full-service Banking Centers in twelve states. Fifth Third engaged Scoresby Interactive to:
- determine the usability of the corporate web site from the perspective of various, interrelated sub-groups
- identify ways to increase bank loyalty and encourage prospective customers to switch banks
- assess the value of the site in its ability to enhance the Fifth Third brand with both existing and potential customers, banking online and off
We designed a usability test with a balanced 2x2 factorial design and crafted activities and task scenarios calculated to answer over 50 questions about the site. Next we observed and interviewed recruited participants as they worked through established test scripts. Fifth Third executives received the extensive report, video, and presentation with enthusiasm and subsequently used them as a roadmap for optimizing user experience.
Usability Testing and UX Strategy
ShareThis is the world’s largest sharing network, allowing 400 million users to share interesting articles, products, and web pages via email, social networks, or in a myriad of other ways. Sharing is accomplished via a ShareThis button publishers provide, or via a Firefox Add-On.
ShareThis first engaged Scoresby Interactive to conduct usability tests of the ShareThis button and their latest site redesign. In a subsequent project, we evaluated users' experience with the ShareBox, a repository of content the user has share,d and a potential source for re-sharing. Results of both usability tests were used to make decisions on design directions and significantly improve the user experience.

National Underwriter is the leading provider of Insurance and Financial Services information, publishing books, magazines, and the Fire, Casualty, and Surety (FC&S) bulletins for almost 100 years.
We evaluated current interfaces to online services, facilitating a series of focus groups and usability tests to establish design requirements. We then defined a comprehensive user experience strategy based on outcomes.

Core3 is a holding company for Software as a Service and outsourcing businesses. Core3’s operating companies deliver accounting, human resources, and technology solutions designed to give clients the freedom to focus on their core business, not the back office.
Core3 needed a new, more user-friendly corporate website—one to which less-technical personnel could easily add content when needed. This was achieved in three steps:
- establishing requirements through collaborative work sessions
- developing the site architecture
- defining the interaction and graphic design
The dynamic web pages we developed use the .NET architecture with 'hooks' for easy updates.
